Juan worked as a researcher at CERAC with the program on armed violence and development in 2010-2011, and has since been an associate researcher Currently, with a CEU Fellowship, Juan is a post-graduate student at the Political Science department at the central European University in Budapest. In 2010-2011 he was the grantee of the Carolina Foundation for his master studies in International Relations at IBEI.
His interests at the moment include the study of collective action and social movements in the context of protracted conflicts; the relationship between armed violence and development and its mutual implications; the post-structuarlist approach to social movements; and the study of development and international relations as an academic discipline.
